The largest and oldest walnut forests on earth are located in the Arslanbob Valley in Kyrgyzstan. Returning from a campaign to the East, Alexander the Great, took nuts and fruits from the local forests. Thus, Kyrgyz nuts got to Greece, where they began to be called "Greek".

Lake Merzbacher is one of the famous “disappearing” lakes in the world. The lake is formed every summer and approximately in August it flows into the river Inylchek.
